Your definitive guide to winter beauty
The sparkly season is upon us with fireworks night and the festivities not far behind, there’s no better time to add a little extra glimmer to your glamour.
Nail your November sparkle
Give fireworks night a run for its money with a gorgeous sparkler-inspired manicure by OPI. This month our absolute favourites are the galaxy inspired ‘Comet in the Sky’ varnish and the metallic marvel that is ‘Shine for me’. Both are total showstoppers set to see you straight through to the party season and beyond.
Madame Tussauds was right, wax works.
Winter is the perfect time to begin a new waxing routine. Wax treatments last for 4-6 weeks, depending on you, and as you snuggle up under thick winter jumpers and your trusty jeans, you’ll have plenty of time to discover more about your own hair growth and to find what works best for you. We use both hot and strip wax. However, for more intimate areas we always recommend using hot wax as it’s a comfortable, less abrasive method.
But once you’ve decided to take the plunge, what next?
Looking after winter skin
We recommend exfoliation and moisturising whatever the season. Exfoliating removes the top layer of skin, brushes away dead skin cells, helps to fight ingrown hairs, encourages healthy hair growth and the end result, whether you decide to wax or not, is an all over smooth glow. We recommend exfoliating every 2-3 days and we can’t get enough of Outback Organics face and body scrub followed by their popular Bush Balm for *ahem* down under.
With cold winter nights spent gazing at fireworks and shorter days, sometimes with very little sunlight, your skin can end up feeing a little fragile, so when it comes to your face and battling that winter pallor, we advocate following the same skincare regime with a three-day exfoliation routine and a protective moisturiser (30+ SPF) twice daily.
